Rookies shine as BJU captures season’s first victory at home

Not only did four Bruins players score their first collegiate goals, but the Bruins also scored their first goals of the season and captured their first win in a 4-1 victory.

Two years ago, in their inaugural game, the Bruins faced the same foe, one of the strongest teams in the NCCAA teams, scoring four goals in an 8-4 loss. This year’s battle against the defending NCCAA champions ended in a 0-6 defeat for the Bruins.

Cobras beat Patriots for rare championship “three-peat”

The Pi Kappa Sigma Cobras looked to defend their status as volleyball champs last Thursday against the Beta Gamma Delta Patriots. The Cobras, who have won the last two years, defeated the Patriots in four sets to successfully “three-peat” and claim yet another Pi Kappa volleyball title.

Cardinals take playoff win over Bearcubs, move to semifinals

The Beta Epsilon Chi Cardinals topped the Beta Chi Bearcubs on Monday night by a score of 6-2. Both the fifth-seeded Cardinals and the seventh-seeded Bearcubs were 1-1 going into the game, but it was the Cardinals who walked away with the win, eliminating the Bearcubs from the playoffs.

Sigma beats Bulldogs in season’s final game

The Phi Beta Chi Bulldogs fell to the Sigma Alpha Chi Spartans in a volleyball match Saturday morning. The game was the last of the season for both the Bulldogs and the Spartans, as neither team will advance to the playoffs.

Pi Gamma makes comeback to defeat Omega in three games

The Alpha Omega Delta Lions and the Pi Gamma Delta Royals battled Saturday morning on the volleyball court. The Royals triumphed over Omega, beating them by one round. Both Pi Gamma and Omega played with only five players, giving the teams more ground to cover.

Kangas exterminate flames

The sixth-seeded Tau Delta Chi Kangas defeated the fourth-seeded Nu Alpha Phi Flames on Monday, 14-5. The Kangas, who were 1-1 going into the game, had just lost a close one to the Flames last week in extra innings, 15-14. Looking to even things up and move on in their playoff journey, the Kangas showed their ability to work together as a team to get the job done.
